ABWA Congress 2024: Building Bridges in African Accountancy

Last year’s ABWA Congress in Côte d’Ivoire brought together delegates from more than 16 countries, creating a vibrant platform to exchange ideas, share knowledge, and strengthen the future of accountancy across Africa.

It was more than just a gathering—it was an opportunity to build bridges, break barriers, and set the stage for the next big leap in African accountancy. From insightful discussions to networking with global leaders, the Congress highlighted the vital role accountants play in driving transparency, accountability, and sustainable development.

A special congratulations goes to Liberia, which proudly recorded the highest number of delegates at the Congress. This strong representation is a clear sign of the nation’s commitment to advancing the profession, amplifying its voice in regional and global conversations, and preparing the next generation of accounting leaders.

As the profession continues to evolve, ABWA remains a unifying force, ensuring that African accountants are not only keeping pace with global trends but also shaping the future of financial governance on the continent.
